Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement, which will be presented upon booking confirmation or at the time of vehicle collection. This document outlines the specific terms, conditions, insurance information, fees, and your obligations related to the rental. In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the latter will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Rental Requirements Overview
- To rent a vehicle from Arnold, you must be at least 21 years old, although requirements may vary based on vehicle type. A valid full driving license is necessary, held for the duration specified in the Rental Agreement. You will need to present valid identification and proof of your current address, along with payment information and a security deposit. Additional criteria may be outlined in the Rental Agreement.
3. Reservations and Payments
- Reservations for vehicle hire can be made via our website, by telephone, or directly at our Dartford office. To confirm your booking, a deposit may be necessary. The remaining balance and a security deposit are generally payable upon vehicle pickup. All listed prices are in British Pounds (£) and include VAT as applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely through trusted payment providers.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of vehicle collection, a thorough inspection is required to identify any pre-existing damage, which must be reported without delay. A vehicle condition report will be prepared and signed by both parties. It is your responsibility to return the vehicle in the same condition as it was collected, accounting for normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and may incur additional charges. The vehicle should be returned with the same fuel level as at collection; refueling fees will apply if the fuel level is lower. Late returns may result in extra charges, so please notify us as soon as possible if a delay is anticipated. You are liable for any parking fines, traffic violations, and related charges incurred during your rental, along with a processing fee.
Insurance and Liability Terms
- All rentals come with basic third-party insurance included. Detailed coverage information and excess amounts can be found in the Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be available to minimize your financial liability, so reviewing these options is advisable. You remain responsible for any damage or loss up to the excess amount, unless additional insurance is purchased. Any damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violation of these Terms will be your responsibility, irrespective of insurance coverage.
Cancellation and Modifications
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice period provided. For precise information, consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Please be aware that late cancellations or no-shows may incur charges.
Prohibited Activities
Prohibited uses of the rental vehicle:
- Use of the vehicle for illegal activities is strictly prohibited. Engaging in racing, rallying, off-roading, or similar high-risk activities is not allowed. The transport of hazardous materials is forbidden. Sub-letting the vehicle or permitting unauthorized drivers is unacceptable. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is prohibited. The vehicle must only be used for its intended purposes, adhering to specified passenger and weight limits. Operating the vehicle outside of the agreed geographical boundaries requires prior authorization.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and extra fees.
8. Liability Restrictions
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, resulting from your use of our services. Our overall liability for any claims will not surpass the total amount you paid for your rental in the past year. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury due to negligence, or for fraudulent actions.
9. Applicable Law
These Terms are regulated by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will fall under the exclusive authority of English and Welsh courts.

We reserve the right to update these Terms as needed. Changes take effect immediately upon publication on our website. Continued use of our services indicates your acceptance of the revised Terms.
